Note regarding AAFP credits: Attendees can earn up to 15 Prescribed Credits when attending our Level 1 Class, entitled “Aesthetic Medicine”. Per the AAFP, “This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 15 Prescribed Credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.”
During our two-day class, Aesthetic Medicine, we will discuss lasers, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), microdermabrasion, injectables (botulinum toxin and fillers) and radio frequency. We will also discuss how one enters, or expands within, the aesthetic industry, as well as the relationship with the “Aesthetic Patient”. Attendees will have the opportunity perform and receive treatments.
After our laser lectures and demonstrations, you will be familiar with laser safety and basic laser physics. You will be able to identify different skin types using the Fitzpatrick scale. Pre-treatment and post-care will be outlined. We will discuss different wavelengths so you can determine which wavelength/treatment is appropriate for different clients.
Following our botulinum toxin lecture and demonstration, you should feel comfortable reconstituting the product, determining ideal areas for injecting and selecting the appropriate amount of units for the client. You should be able to return to your office, order product and begin injections! In the event that you would like additional one-on-one training, preceptorships are available.
At Capital Medical Education, we are committed to making each of our courses a “10”! You will receive the most up-to-date aesthetic information from physicians who do more than teach aesthetics – they also have their own successful aesthetic medical practices.
The environment is professional – but also fun and relaxed! We encourage an interactive environment through class discussion.
Our course is beneficial not just to those who are new to aesthetics, but to those with experience as well. Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants and Estheticians can all benefit from our medical aesthetic training programs.
Capital Medical Education provides aesthetic training through our Aesthetic Workshops and preceptorships. You will earn 15 CME credits when you attend our two-day Aesthetic Workshop, Aesthetic Medicine. This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 15 Prescribed Credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
